Small Stones: Optimism... |
Small Stones#18
I went back to the gym...
Happy the neck brace was gone
I embraced each movement with gratitude
Optimistic because I know the difference
Conscientious because I know the danger....

Small Stones: Optimism... |
Optimism is enjoying a spa day even under treacherous conditions...
Japanese Macaques (Macaca fuscata) above, also know as Snow Monkeys,
live in Jigokudani Monkey Park.
The name Jigokudani means"Hell's Valley" because of
"the steam and boiling water that bubbles out of small crevices in the frozen ground,
surrounded by steep cliffs and formidably cold and hostile forests."
Yet, the monkeys know how to enjoy their spa and cherish each moment spent there...
Now that's optimism...
According to the originators of this wonderful exercise, a small stone is a short piece of writing (prose or poetry) that precisely captures a fully-engaged moment. The process of discovering small stones is as important as the finished product. Searching for small stones will encourage you to keep all your senses; - your eyes,(and ears, nose, mouth, fingers, feelings and mind) open.
Some Food for Thought: How do you maintain your optimism ? Take a moment to contemplate what optimism means to you? Love and Peace in 2013.
I would love to hear from you: Please leave me a comment. Thank You!
