Reflections: The Looking Glass...

"Life is a mirror and will reflect back to the thinker what he thinks into it." Ernest Holmes

Reflections: The Looking Glass...

Small Stones #13
Sometimes what we see through our lens is different
Sometimes we choose not to see what is there
Sometimes we re-invent what is being shown to us
Our view through the glass might vary...
But the facts remain the same...
Whatever you see is your perception of what is there...
The world is as we see it.
What do you see?

More below!

""Now, Kitty, let's consider who it was that dreamed it all. This is a serious question, my dear, and you should not go on licking your paw like that -- as if Dinah hadn't washed you this morning!" Alice in Wonderland
Reflections: The Looking Glass...

Small Stones #6
Sometimes dreams feel so real
Some times dreams become reality
Sometimes dreams never appear or are forgotten
Sometimes dream are prophetic...
How we choose to see them is up to us...
Do you remember dreams?

What are small stones?
According to the originators of this wonderful exercise, a small stone is a short piece of writing (prose or poetry) that precisely captures a fully-engaged moment. The process of discovering small stones is as important as the finished product. Searching for small stones will encourage you to keep all your senses; - your eyes, (and ears, nose, mouth, fingers, feelings and mind) open.

Some Food for Thought:
How are you viewing the world? What looking glass are you using?  What messages are you receiving from your heart?  Love and Peace in 2013.

I would love to hear from you: Please leave me a comment. Thank You!

  4. yes. sometimes we opt to see only the things that we want to see... it's like the principle of selective hearing.

  9. When looking at things, we have our own lenses and filters. These come from our own experiences, knowledge, culture, etc. The key is in recognizing these filters...

  10. i agree. there are times that we only see what we want to see -- may it be the teeny tiny details of the situation or the big picture.

  15. Well said Vera,
We view the world through our own filters, and it takes a conscious effort to step away and see things differently... Like wearing new glasses. ;-)
    TY!

  21. our view through the glass might vary - i believe in this, there are different factors to consider like faith, political and ideological belief, societal class etc...

  22. Positive. Looking with a positive aditude and reflecting on the postive. Its universal and benifical for us all to strive for.

  23. I know at times I only see what I want to see and not the entire picture. This post gives me something to think about it.

  24. Sometimes we see the same physical aspect of the thing but we have different perceptions. IT all depends on how you perceive things.

  25. I have always been the type of person who sees with their mind and not their heart if that makes sense. I over analyze every situation and make sure I am seeing things for what they actually are so I'm not fooled by what my eyes see on the surface.
