"Acceptance is not love. You love a person because he or she has lovable traits, but you accept everybody just because they're alive and human." Albert Ellis
Small Stones #16
There's enough judging, critiquing, condemning and hating in the world
We need to declare a Global Acceptance Day
Something in the vein of Peace Day
On Acceptance Day, we'll bite our tongue, purse our lips, and say nothing...
I see You. I accept You .. as You are
I can't believe we are at the half way mark with our daily Small Stones, and I continue to feel enriched by the experience. For my Small Stones #16, I'll borrow another word on Mamakat's weekly prompt. list. Acceptance is a great word and quality to practice.

"Happiness can exist only in acceptance." George Orwell
Small Stones#16
Perhaps the day before Acceptance Day should be named too...
We'll call it Rejection Day...
A day to reject all the petty little things that hold us back
All the silly little things that keep us down
We'll make a bonfire of them all
On Rejection Day...
What are small stones?
According to the originators of this wonderful exercise, a small stone is a short piece of writing (prose or poetry) that precisely captures a fully-engaged moment. The process of discovering small stones is as important as the finished product. Searching for small stones will encourage you to keep all your senses; - your eyes,(and ears, nose, mouth, fingers, feelings and mind) open.
Some Food for Thought: How do you learn acceptance in a judgmental world? Take a moment to contemplate what Acceptance means to you? Love and Peace in 2013.
I would love to hear from you: Please leave me a comment. Thank You!

Acceptance of each other... as we are.
ReplyDeleteAcceptance does let it be easier for a person to move on. Agree that acceptance doesn't equate love.
ReplyDeleteGlobal Acceptance Day - what a brilliant idea! People look for faults in others rather than accepting them for what they are no matter what creed or colour - fat or thin :)
ReplyDeleteI agree, same here! I love that quote too... TY Dominique. ;-)
ReplyDeleteAcceptance, Peace, Balance... all important terms for 2013. :-)
ReplyDeleteLOVE the Albert Ellis quote. I'd love to see how good this place could get if we all lived by this simple truth.
ReplyDeleteVery inspiring. Whenever there's acceptance, there's peace
ReplyDeleteHi PiP! I thought so too... Any day we are reminded is a great day to me. TY! :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Tori! My sentiments too... We'll keep believing... some day. TY! :-)
ReplyDeleteCintamuni,You said it beautifully... I agree. :-)TY!
ReplyDeleteAcceptance is also loving the person for who he is.
ReplyDeleteYes... and even though Ellis says it's not Love, it is accepting the love they express in the way they know how. TY! :-)
