"Don't waste time on jealousy. Sometimes you're ahead, sometimes you're behind." Mary Schmich
Lady Jealousy...
Today, raised her pretty head
Spewed poisonous words...
In silent disgust...
The seething lady made plans
Take the other out...
Today, the word is Jealousy
What is Carpe Diem? Blog Owner, Kristjaan Panneman, describes it as: "a weblog on haiku. It's a new daily haiku meme where you can write a classical or non-classical haiku on a given prompt. Haiku is an ancient Japanese poetry form. A haiku has three short lines and describes a short moment (as short as the sound of a pebble thrown into water). Mostly a haiku counts 5-7-5 syllables and is sometimes called 'counted verse.'"

Lord Jealousy seethes
Anger over consort's act
A lover's letter...
Now resentment grows
A pernicious plan takes hold
Slowly smites the heart...
Some Food for Thought: Do you have bursts of Jealousy? Have you ever been called Jealous? Take a moment to contemplate what Jealousy means to you? Love and Peace in 2013.
I would love to hear from you: Please leave me a comment. Thank You!

ReplyDeleteTakes action on deadly plans...
Cheater's a goner. ;-)
I agree! Instead of being jealous, we should waste our time counting our blessings!
ReplyDeleteVery true ... jealousy is the root of all unhappiness !!!
ReplyDeleteJealousy brings out the monster in everyone. We have to focus on enhancing our best qualities instead.
ReplyDeleteI think being jealous is a feeling insecurities. It is never helpful so I will left jealousy behind and just be happy with what I have and be happy for what other people have.
ReplyDeleteMommy Maye2
Jealousy is bad...people should not entertain this kind of feeling.
ReplyDeleteJealousy destroys. And crushes you...
ReplyDeleteAgree much. Jealousy can sometimes kill... we have to focus more on the positive things around us.
ReplyDeleteJealousy is the fear of comparison. - very well said. I admit that I always get jealous when my husband talk to girls, but it's just something that we joked about - it's part of our marriage. But we make sure that it will not affect us that much. It's just a spice hehehe!
ReplyDeleteAh, yes. We are all plagued with jealousy sometimes. Though it's hard, it's best not to dwell on it though.
ReplyDeleteJealousy sure is an unpleasant feeling, very unwelcome. I am the jealous type though and it's hard to remove from my system although I try.
ReplyDeleteI am not the jealous type of person... so usually, I am very contented with what I have and I strongly feel God has given me so much much more than what I ever asked for!!! I decided to put my son in Ateneo De Zamboanga University even if they have a very large class of about 40 for the section and about 200 for the whole class level and even if he will not excel that much with grades, because I want him to know that there will always be people better than him and also people behind him! I want him to see reality early esp. that he is an only child!
ReplyDeletejealousy is such a waste of energy.
ReplyDeleteThere are times that Jealousy strikes me, hard. But I won't let that feeling to put me down.
ReplyDeleteJealousy, sometimes we can't help it, but we need to fight it, as it is not healthy really.
ReplyDeleteChan

I love the illustration and the poetic gesture at describing such a feeling.
ReplyDeletePopped in from SITS!
ReplyDeleteI love this. It's so easy to let your insecurities get the best of you!
Jealousy? a very bad attitude! It will definitely ruin your life. :)
ReplyDeleteJealousy is a waste of time. Each one of us has his own gifts. :)
ReplyDeleteOh, yes! Definitely yes! I'm one jealous wife and hubby knows how to keep my jealousy at bay. Well, at least he knows it now.
ReplyDeleteYes, I am not perfect so there are times that jealousy hits me.
ReplyDeletehahaha! nicely done! No more wasting time and being depressed with a cheater. :) Let him be gone. :P
ReplyDeleteI don't think I'd ever really been the jealous type. Thankfully. Jealousy, when left to rule, could mean really bad for a lot people. For others, it could mean striving to better themselves.
ReplyDeleteLove & accept thyself!
ReplyDeleteI say never let how you feel be dependant on another person, being a slave to jealousy can only inhibit finding your own happiness. And we women especially need to learn to be happy for other women's successes! Thanks for stopping by my blog yesterday, I love what you're achieving with yours!
ReplyDeletei'm not a jealous type of individual; jealousy is wicked
ReplyDeleteJealousy can lead to greediness too or worst to nothing.
ReplyDeletejealousy is a bad thing, but let's admit it, there are times that we can't avoid it...
ReplyDeleteJealousy. Erase.
ReplyDeleteI'm thankful my good Lord sustains me to overcome such negative feeling and I dwell on the fruits of the Holy Spirit instead.
ReplyDeleteSometimes, it's hard to resist though... am I right or am I right? hihihi
ReplyDeletei like the photos
ReplyDeletejealousy is bad
Very aptly described as poison. It's got this gnawing feeling that eats you up and makes you think and do irrational things. That's why it's important to keep a good hold of our emotions, particularly these kinds.
ReplyDeleteI get jealous on the things that are important to me and have great impact in my life. :D
ReplyDeleteMaybe I should think on the brighter side of the things and aim more.
Im not the jealous type of girl BUT it's hard to cut its ugly head=)
ReplyDeleteI admit sometimes I've been consumed by jealousy/envy.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the haikus. They remind me to fight jealousy/envy.
i agree! jealousy is a bad.. just let go of it..
ReplyDeleteI was never a jealous person by nature, but I do think all people in all kinds of relationships encounter occasional bursts of jealousy.
ReplyDeleteJealousy is never pretty. Best to spend the time working on something which you can achieve.
ReplyDeletemy prayer for me and my husband includes strength to overcome all temptations. i guess it helps in keeping the relationship solid and jealousy at bay... :) happy weekend!
