"A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than you love yourself."
Josh Billings
Small Stones# 22
Three dogs on leashes, with their owner strolling...
I watched a while and it got me thinking
Who is doing the walking?
When we say walk the dog?
The dogs or the owner ...
"If a dog will not come to you after having looked you in the face, you should go home and examine your conscience." Woodrow Wilson
Small Stones#22
This one had company
on the water's edge...
He led, she followed?
More Below!
"Whenever I climb I am followed by a dog called 'Ego'." Friedrich Nietzsche
Small Stones#22
These two, dressed in elegant waistcoats
Were interested in the treats not the walk
We'll let you know ... they seem to say,
When we're ready...
What are small stones?
According to the originators of this wonderful exercise, a small stone is a short piece of writing (prose or poetry) that precisely captures a fully-engaged moment. The process of discovering small stones is as important as the finished product. Searching for small stones will encourage you to keep all your senses; - your eyes,(and ears, nose, mouth, fingers, feelings and mind) open.
Some Food for Thought: What do you observe in watching dog-walking? Take a moment to contemplate what dog walking says about the owners and about us? Love and Peace in 2013.
I would love to hear from you: Please leave me a comment. Thank You!

TY bythewobblydumdumtree! Those two dogs are such snazzy dressers and they love to pose for an audience too. ;-)
ReplyDeleteWalking the dog is more about the owner walking I guess !!!
ReplyDeleteInteresting. Specially if the dog is on a leash and the dog drags the owner by running around.
ReplyDeleteGreen Speck TY! It's interesting how some lead and others are led. :-)
ReplyDeleteMys TY! Yeah and I had a lot to think of about relationships and how they function. :-)
ReplyDeleteIf you are ever in need of a furry companion - a Dog, go to a shelter. We had a shelter dog for several years. And she was wonderful. We are pet-less now. But we have other family that has fur-family that we can visit. :)
