"Happiness cannot be traveled to, owned, earned, worn or consumed. Happiness is the spiritual experience of living every minute with love, grace, and gratitude." Denis Waitley
Small Stones #27
What am I grateful for?
I started leaving bread out for the birds
It has been so cold...
I saw them yesterday gather for the food.
Some squirrels too.
I'm grateful for all life
One hand feeds another...
What are small stones?
According to the originators of this wonderful exercise, a small stone is a short piece of writing (prose or poetry) that precisely captures a fully-engaged moment. The process of discovering small stones is as important as the finished product. Searching for small stones will encourage you to keep all your senses; - your eyes,(and ears, nose, mouth, fingers, feelings and mind) open.

Small Stones #27
It's so easy to go through life ... expectant
Then when good things happen, claim the glory
It's not always easy to acknowledge the role others play
Especially those who help us succeed
I'm grateful for all my fellow bloggers here and on WP
I'm grateful for my family, my friends, my Creator
Offering feedback and good will
Thank you!

Oh, I just LOVE this quote! :) Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteBeing grateful even with the smallest details in life could lead us to bigger blessings. :-)
ReplyDeleteAlmost everything in our life connects with somebody and being grateful to all things and even the smaller ones can make the world a better place to live with.
ReplyDeleteI have so many things to thank God for. The number 1 is His love for me that He gave His only begotten Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, to save a sinner like me.
ReplyDeleteI'm grateful for everything. :)
ReplyDeleteLove that quote. For me, I define that happiness comes from simple things. Small chat from a long lost friend, playing Bingo with family, stroll in the park, mini things like that. Happiness is like a circle noh? Just like the image you posted here.
ReplyDeleteTY Meikah! I love the quotes too and... stay hopeful.
ReplyDeleteEliz
Michelle TY! I'm with you on that note too. :-)
ReplyDeleteEliz
TY Daddy Y! I like that perspective on life. ;-)

I'm also in the habit of leaving bread out for the birds. I used to get irritated by the squirrels, but now I leave some larger pieces for them, and everyone is happy! Thank you for sharing this with us. It's lovely. :-)
ReplyDeleteDana
Whatever difficulties we have in life, we still have much to be thankful for. I'm grateful for my trials, it made me appreciate my life now.
ReplyDeleteTY Dana! I've had to do same for the squirrels as it didn't occur to me that they wold like some too. :-)
ReplyDeleteTY Jellybean! Love your response and makes me appreciative. :-)

ReplyDeleteVery elegantly written. I am grateful for family and friends who support me in anyway possible.. I do the same for them daily.
ReplyDeleteThanks for making me stop and think about all the things I'm grateful for. My health is upper most in importance since then I can enjoy all my other loves.
ReplyDeleteI am grateful for my health and my family's health. God willing, I hope we will always be blessed with good health.
ReplyDeleteThat's an interesting form of poety! I like that : ) I'm grateful that I was born into a Christian family in a country that allows me to be a Christian. I have everything I've ever needed because of those two facts, regardless of all the 'things' I don't have but would like to.
ReplyDeletebeautiful! I am grateful for my family, they are my world.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful inspirational post! I love the pic, it impacts you at once. And the small stones idea is great! Gratitud is so important, thank you for making us ponder about it.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and Amen. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI am grateful for my family and all they have done for me. My mom is constantly working to try to help me out with school even though she has her own house to support being the only income. My mom has shown me so much and I aspire to be like her when I have my own children.
ReplyDeleteI am grateful for my husband, my children and God's love! I am in awe in his glory!
ReplyDeleteI am grateful for my family, and for the women that God has put in my life to help me stay on the narrow path.
ReplyDeleteI'm incredibly grateful for my children. They mean everything to me and I feel blessed to have them.
ReplyDeleteI'm grateful to be breathing & being alive. As well as for my God, Family & Friends.
ReplyDeleteI am grateful for so much in my life. After waiting and praying for six years God granted us a second child. He has been like my miracle baby. I am grateful for our health, the roof over our head, faith that keeps us strong and happy.
ReplyDeleteIt's all about gratitude & passing it around .... I am grateful for every morning being a fresh start & new beginning :)
ReplyDeleteBeautifully put. I also like watching the birds and animals gather their food .
ReplyDeleteGratitude is so important. And..it's often hard to find...such a great post to remind and inspire others.

ReplyDeleteI love the idea of "small stones" and the concept of really engaging in those precious little moments. I'm eternally grateful for my daughters and my husband...for my happy life.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great exercise. I am one that sometimes overlooks the small things. I have to remind myself to stop and smell the roses..as the saying goes
ReplyDeleteWhat am I grateful for? Oh my...all of the good AND the bad. It means I'm still among the living
ReplyDeleteI like to think of the quote, "Don't be afraid to fail, failure is nothing but a stepping stone to success." It really pushes me to do all that I want to!
ReplyDeleteI am thankful for God, my family, my friends, and all the opportunities that blogging has given me.
ReplyDeleteI'm thankful for God's blessings!
