I wrote this blog :All aTwitter: Ashton Kutcher vs. CNN for 1millionth Follower - @aplusk wins! earlier and posted it on my WordPress site. I surfed the net, read a few blogs and figured I'd add more observations...
There were tons of reactions to this social media event and many of us got quite a charge defending/disparaging the drama swirling around Ashton Kutcher , Anderson Cooper and CNN. Nevertheless, it was definitely an exciting race and the energy was quite palpable....
For me, I presume for you too, it was difficult to feign complete indifference because it ignited that deep-seated passionate response we reserve for things we either admire or abhor.
I was a witness to the marathon for the millionth tweeple last night and to Oprah Winfrey's first tweets this morning; it was all so surreal! How did this - tell me what you’re doing in 140 characters - company that Jack, Evan and Biz built create such frenzy? I thought Microsoft, Apple, Google, Facebook, LinkedIn and more … how far technology has come...
Today, Oprah Winfrey (@Oprah) had Ashton Kutcher, Demi Moore and Evan Williams , CEO of Twitter, on her show and offered her first Twitter tweet live on tv. Should we anticipate the possibility of another global charity fundraiser with Ms. Oprah? Will she set the bar higher and aim for 2 million followers?
With Twitter, we are turning a new direction in the way we use this magnificent and potentially explosive communication tool. My blog asks questions about the pros/cons of this medium. I don’t claim to have all the answers but I am definitely willing to witness the journey.
By the way, the avatar promised by Electronic Arts is not your random run of the mill doozy; according to my teens, it's a SIMS 3 unique character. Lucky fella!
