Haiku: To The Contingent...

“Hatred is like a poison which you inject into your veins, before injecting it into your enemy. It is throwing cow dung at another: you dirty your hands first, before you dirty others.” Gems of Buddhist Wisdom

What's wrong with your life?
To the witch-hunt contingent
Mind your own backyard...

You spend days snooping
Wasting our time concocting
Enslaved by false claims...

Spend time on your dreams
Build your fortress with good deeds
Mean acts never pay...

Sometimes, we find ourselves caught up in confusing situations. When they occur, we must step back and take stock without adding to the confusion.
Recently,  a friend was confronted at work for something she didn't do. Before she could address it, it had escalated into a dragged out, throw down fight; there no winners but lots of pain and opinions. She moved on with an apology,  the other side didn't.  Now she says they attack her at every little prompting. She has made peace with the situation and stirs clear of ideal chitchat with her colleagues. They are still furious and look for new ways to undermine her. What would you do?

"Laughter relieves us of superfluous energy, which, if it remained unused, might become negative, that is, poison. Laughter is the antidote."  George Gurdjieff

 A stinking rat knows
Poison finger points four back
Your rage is misplaced

The Elders have said
Evil plans will always fail
Bathe in the peace pool...

Spend time on your goals
Green grass today, fades away
GO. Tempus fujit!

We don't have to embrace every fight. She feels their anger is misplaced. I've told her to let it rest. If it bothers her enough, she can/should switch jobs and find a company that will treat her well. This haiku is based on the conversations we were having.  Some are her thoughts and some are mine. I think the best way to handle concentrated antagonism and gossip is to stay clear of it. Don't bother engaging with individuals, go to the boss and document it all. She must take decisive action to end the negative backbiting and the best way is to meet with the boss and the ring leaders and put a stop to it. What if you don't know who they are? Then document the false accusations and notify your boss of them. Add your response to each one and request that it be put in your file. After that, move on.  Constant face offs are a waste of energy. What would you advice?

Think: You're Already A Blogging Star...

"Everyone is a genius at least once a year; a real genius has his original ideas closer together." Georg C. Lichtenberg

Blog Away - You're a Star Babe
Wouldn't it be fantastic, if we could have a team of genius directors feeding us ideas and visuals to help us on our way to blogging stardom? Today, I came across an impressive group of creative talent  and want to share their special behind the scenes project/work with you. The creative minds behind The Directors Bureau and their tdbspecialprojects site include an admirable list of Hollywood film directors; M Blash, Andy Bruntel, Sam Brown, Todd Cole, Sofia Coppola, Roman Coppola, Patrick Daughters, Nash Edgerton, Romain Gavras, Mike Maguire, Melodie McDaniel, Geoff McFetridge,Aaron Rose, Shynola

What do they do? Aside from the work they do publicly and professionally, they run tdbspecialprojects as a laboratory or genius warehouse where imaginative ideas and projects percolate, and where potential clients can brainstorm with them on developing visual concepts for a  brand launch or re-launch.

I was particularly fascinated by their work because, as a blogger, there are times when I run dry of ideas and have to reach out to other sources for rejuvenation.  Of the wonderful, stimulating projects I checked out on the tdbspecialprojects site, three struck me as quite smart and entertaining: more below... :-)

Creative Freedom: The Genius of Blogging

Making Sense of Our Creative Freedom: The Genius of Blogging

“Don't wait. The time will never be just right.” Napoleon Hill

Recently, I was reading some blog posts on Seth Godin’s site that got me thinking not only about the genius of finding original solutions for everyday problems but also about the bravery it takes to make the leap into the creative process and pursue your dreams.

Seth is one of my favorite authors and his most recent book is Linchpin: Are You Indispensable? What makes Linchpin an important book is that it addresses a trend that we must embrace; to rise above mediocrity, do the necessary emotional work, and carve a path that distinguishes us from the dispensable masses or pay the price of becoming just another cog in the workplace wheel.

Seth’s book tackles the lizard brain that constantly interferes with our inner desire to change. It is that petulant, whiny voice in our heads that dismisses everything and prefers to settle for less. We must push past the lizard and take the leap to find our creative genius even in the face of fear. Is there something that you are passionate about but scared to do? This is a call to action to trust your instincts and take the leap.
