Inspiration: Yes You Can!

"There is a winner in you. You were created to be successful, to accomplish your goals, to leave your mark on this generation. You have greatness in you. The key is to get out." Joel Osteen

1.Keep Your Vision in Front of You - Dare to dream big dreams.
2.Run Your Race - Focus on your unique course and goals.
3.Expect Good Things - Anticipate great opportunities.
4.Have a Positive Mind-set - Take control of your thoughts and attitudes. You Can, You Will: 8 Undeniable Qualities Of A Winner

Are You In-step with Your Goals or Vision for the Year? Time does fly by very quickly and, before we know it, the holiday season will soon be upon us. I bet some of us are wondering how the year got away from us so fast. I was speaking with a friend today and she said: "I feel like I blinked and January turned to October!" True. It's been a hectic year for me both offline and on ... and quite a while since I posted on this blog. I'm a bit shocked at how time seemingly flew by.  I must admit that life, its demands, and blogging on Mirth and Motivation sidelined this blog and got the better of me. I'm delighted to be back to add another post. How has the year transpired for you?

Today, I reached for a book by one of my favorite motivational, inspirational ministers/teachers and  got inspired all over again. One of the joys of blogging is that we can always pick up where we left off and reconnect with our readership. Thankfully, Joel Osteen's book: You Can, You Will: 8 Undeniable Qualities Of A Winner, got me thinking about staying motivated and doing the work we need to do; even after an extended break. What I love about Joel and this book is the common sense wisdom shared in each undeniable quality he identifies. Unless we have a  clear vision coupled with action, expectation, and a positive attitude, it's easy to fall back and give up. Run your race and, even if you pause to look around and meet other callings, get right back on track and do the work you need to do.
More Below!

"As you put these principles into action, you will step into a new level of your destiny... Get ready! You can, you will!" Joel Osteen

5.Commit to Excellence - Do your best and maintain high standards.
6.Keep Growing - Be proactive, be intentional, build on your gifts, and continually improve.
7.Serve Others - Invest yourself in others.
8.Stay Passionate - Light the fire within and approach life with enthusiasm. You Can, You Will: 8 Undeniable Qualities Of A Winner

How do you incorporate these qualities into your goals/plans? Another wonderful bonus that Joel offers in this and all his other bestselling books is solid examples and stories from real life experiences. I love reading about how people overcome their challenges and how we can apply what we learn to real life events. This book is chockablock with  stories from Joel's life, biblical examples and the lives of congregants and others. I know that sometimes, in our effort to achieve our goals, we forget that success is not just about us but also about serving others. In order to grow, we need to serve others inside/out of our community, stay committed, open our hearts and minds to new experiences, and work at excellence. Whilst it seems like a tall order, it is doable. We can take breaks as needed and get back on board refueled and ready to refocus on our goals. May the rest of the year and this holiday season fill you with enthusiasm and opportunities to get your work done. Happy Halloween and Holiday Season! Do share your thoughts below. What do you do to stay passionate?

Some Food for Thought: What do you do to stay passionate about your goals? What judgments do you hold against yourself? How would you change the messages? If you could change one thing about your life, what would that be? Happy Halloween & Holiday Season! Love and Peace!

I would love to hear from you: Please leave me a comment. Thank You!

  1. If I could change one thing about my personality it would be the ability to relax more and not need to get everything done NOW, or yesterday lol. I also do not believe in saying "I will try" I say "I WILL!"

  4. I personally didn't do a very good job of having a vision for my 2015 year. I did however have a lot of positive changes that will definitely shape my 2016 goals :)

  5. I love reading inspirational stories, too! It's like, if they can do it so can I, kind of thing. To stay passionate about my goals, I remind myself every day why it's so important to me and I make myself make time for it on a regular basis.

  13. I'm currently following my dream of being an actress. there is a lot of rejection and a lot of disappointment in the industry but my faith in God and my faith in myself keep me going. Meryl Streep has been rejected and she's doing just fine so I keep that in mind too.

  45. I love to listent to Joel Osteen. The latest one I heard from him was 'stop complaining.' It hit a note because my attitude's been a bit sour lately, and honestly, that's just not me. I made a vow then and there to shape it back up. I have slipped a couple of times, but I'm doing a lot better. Despite tough challenges I'm facing, I have more blessings than I can count. :)
