Another Valentine by Wendy Cope (1945 - )
Today we are obliged to be romantic
And think of yet another valentine.
We know the rules and we are both pedantic:
Today’s the day we have to be romantic.
Our love is old and sure, not new and frantic.
You know I’m yours and I know you are mine.
And saying that has made me feel romantic,
My dearest love, my darling valentine.
Some Food for Thought: Do you celebrate Valentine's Day? What are you Thankful for? What gifts did you give/receive? What would you have wanted? Love and Peace!
I would love to hear from you: Please leave me a comment. Thank You!

I've done good so far - no chocolates for me. In fact, I am on my way to my second spin class of the day ;)
ReplyDeleteGo you! Me, I avoided chocolate, but no double spin class for me! great job.
DeleteIt looks like you had a great day! We don't celebrate Valentine's Day or give VDay gifts, but we did spend the day together as a family.
ReplyDeleteHow fun - I'm not a big fan of Valentine's Day, I think it's a scam. But, if I were the lucky winner, I'd choose an Amazon gift certificate - they have everything!
ReplyDeleteit would be a toss up between Starbucks and books a million as i love tea and books. thank you for this wonderful giveaway and happy valentine's day
ReplyDeleteI really don't like Valentine's Day that much, but I'm going to dinner with the boyfriend anyhow. Of course, it's Friday and we would normally do that anyhow so not sure if it's really a V-day celebration. lol
ReplyDeleteI really don't celebrate Valentine's Day, but I am certainly ready to buy the marked down candy on the 15th!
ReplyDeleteALL these cookies and cakes are making me hungry. I already ate like 20 and I still need my valentines day fix! LOL I also loved the quotes you put with the pictures
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post! I agree that not everyone is excited about Valentine's Day. I love that Valentine's day makes you stop during your busy schedule and remember your loved ones. That is what it means to me anyways!
ReplyDeleteHappy Valentine's Day to you too! We did not celebrate Valentine's Day this year, so no gifts. But we do make surprises for each other all year round.
ReplyDeleteHope you had a great Valentine's Day! Those look really awesome!
ReplyDeleteI would choose an amazon card. I LOVE shopping through amazon! Thanksfor the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the reminder that not everyone has someone...It's so easy to take life for granted. Happy Valentine's Day
ReplyDeleteOh gosh that cakes looks good (honestly only I could come through reading a post and just think of cake). I spent the day with my other half - he took a day off and he brought me a book I had been lusting after that came out yesterday so itwas a really lovely day :) x
ReplyDeleteHappy valentine's Day! Everything looks so good and delicious
ReplyDeleteI'd get an Amazon gift card. They have everything!
ReplyDeleteI am not sure what e gift card I would choose yet... I have never used an e gift card. Wishing you a Happy Valentines day.
ReplyDeleteThis is my comment box... the raffle is above ... Comments are always welcome. TY! <3
ReplyDeleteHappy Belated Valentines Day to you. I don't celebrate Valentines Day but my son came home with candy (thanks to the school) and hubby came home later with roses since he had to work all day.
ReplyDeleteThat heart cake looks delicious! I love anything having to do with strawberries and chocolate!
ReplyDeleteWe don't celebrate it, really, but I love your message. Also, that cake looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteThat cake looks yummy!!
ReplyDeleteI love the cookies on a stick (like a lollypop). My cookies never turn out like that though. *sigh*
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome giveaway. I love how delicious the treats look too. It's a great way to get into the holiday spirit.
ReplyDeleteI'm a little late to this party, but as for the question, I celebrate Valentine's Day. I ate way too much chocolate yesterday, lol!
ReplyDeleteHow sweet! I was sick, still am but I'm alive so that's awesome! Lol. I'm pretty sure I'm going to eat some tasty junk food when I feel better, never too late for a treat. I hope you had a lovely day!
ReplyDeleteHappy Valentine's Day! That was an awesome giveaway (that I missed)!
ReplyDeleteHappy Valentine's Day! That was an awesome giveaway (that I missed)!
ReplyDeleteThis year, hubby and I had no choice but to stay at home because of his recent hip replacement surgery. He knew I was a little sad that we can't go anywhere but he said "Everyday is Valentine's day. We don't have to wait one whole year to celebrate our love." So there. That was enough for me. :) Thank you for the post and for making me drool over the sweets. :)
ReplyDeleteWe cooked dinner and watched Lady in the Tramp. It was low-key and absolutely perfect. <3
ReplyDeleteI hope you had a Happy Valentine's Day! Your Giveaway is awesome!
ReplyDeleteI actually asked my husband to get me stuff for my home business. I am totally cool with that.
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful inspirations! Thank you for sharing them!
ReplyDeleteValentine's day is over-hyped up. love is too beautiful yet intangible an emotion to be tied to a day...It is something that we express all our lives through many minute actions and thoughts. But if you treat it as a day to just stop and smell the roses or the people that add so much meaning to your life, then yes, it is a beautiful occasion :)
ReplyDeleteI celebrated Valentine's day with my babies....best valentine's ever. We made treats, danced around and started potty training. Atyipcal way of celebrating the day of romance, but the best!
ReplyDeleteThis is a nice post, everyone needs some love shown to them on Valentine's, why not?
