Small Stones: Optimism...

"Optimism is the light of God. It is a form of grace which allows you to be much more perceptive and to look at life with greater clarity." Amma

Small Stones: Optimism...

Small Stones#18
I went back to the gym...
Happy the neck brace was gone
I embraced each movement with gratitude
Optimistic because I know the difference
Conscientious because I know the danger....

Small Stones: Optimism...
Small Stones#18
Optimism is enjoying a spa day even under treacherous conditions...
Japanese Macaques (Macaca fuscata) above, also know as Snow Monkeys,
live in Jigokudani Monkey Park.
The name Jigokudani means"Hell's Valley" because of
"the steam and boiling water that bubbles out of small crevices in the frozen ground,
surrounded by steep cliffs and formidably cold and hostile forests."
Yet, the monkeys know how to enjoy their spa and cherish each moment spent there...
Now that's optimism...

What are small stones?
According to the originators of this wonderful exercise, a small stone is a short piece of writing (prose or poetry) that precisely captures a fully-engaged moment. The process of discovering small stones is as important as the finished product. Searching for small stones will encourage you to keep all your senses; - your eyes,(and ears, nose, mouth, fingers, feelings and mind) open.

Some Food for Thought: How do you maintain your optimism ?  Take a moment to contemplate what optimism means to you? Love and Peace in 2013.

I would love to hear from you: Please leave me a comment. Thank You!

  4. Waking each day and having laughter in one's heart allows us to smile at the stranger who just might become a friend.

If the day is grey upon awakening be sure to share a smile, when you make another's day brighter you illuminate your own.

Thanks for finding my long and short verse sites. I wish I had time to visit all of the Mindful Writers at the Writing Our Way Home blog. :)

  15. I try to read inspiring quotes each day and share those with all my readers. But there are times, I myself lose optimism that I need another person to inspire me. That's life, as much as I can I try to focus on things that really matters and that can be true happiness.
