In Photos: Seven Reasons Summer Season is a Favorite…

 GOOD MOOD FOOD
Chocolate chip cherry vanilla ice cream

Summer always seems to breeze in quickly and fade away before we have time to properly bid it adieu. When I saw Red Riter's prompt, I was amused and then thought, why not? We write about Autumn in fall and winter in December and on... Why not mix it up and revisit a season we love and reminisce a bit.

What do we like about summer? What do you look forward to doing in the summer? Walk with me down memory lane... Yes, I know we are about to embark on a few long months of winter weather here on the East coast.  Even as some of us escape to Florida or a sunny island or two, most of us will stay behind and brave the dropping temperatures... brrr. Before we go traipsing into the sunset of a summer day, let's remember: Do bundle up; it's still cold season!

Tell The Truth Thursday

For this week's Tell The Truth Thursday prompt, Red Riter offers a great question:
What was/is your most favorite season?

Don't get me wrong, I do love winter wear but there are more things I love about the summer time... First off,  it Shifts my Mood, puts a smile on my face and puts a spring in my step. Then there is the Weather, Food, Fruits, Flowers, Outdoors, and Travel.... Join me below for some more photographic reminders of good ole summer time... Think chocolate cherry vanilla ice cream!

Friend Finding Fridays

On another wonderful note, Alysha of SupermomAlysha blog has graciously chosen Positive Kismet as the super blogger of the week for her Friend Finding Fridays blog hop. Yippee and Thank You! Alysha randomly selects a blogger from the previous week's blog hopper list and features them on her blog hop.
By now, you should know that blog hops are the non-secret, number one way to build connections, comments and a following on the blogger platform. Join the fun, add your blog to her page, follow as many other bloggers as you wish; almost all return the favor... Don't forget to leave a comment as Google doesn't notify any of us when a new follower joins our blog. :-)

Aha, the joy of summer days... I'm so grateful for the seasons as there is always something new and different to look forward to again, right? What do you look forward to? What are you missing? or do you feel as Anton Chekhov said that "People don't notice whether it's winter or summer when they're happy." ;-)
Happy Holidays!

  1. When our area gets warm, sunny summers, it's absolutely wonderful. You just want to be outside and doing stuff. But sometimes we get cold, grey and rainy summers, so the year feels like one long cloudy day. I love days that are bright and sunny, not too hot, where I can walk under the trees. I love the way the leaves filter the light to various shades of dappled gold and green.

But I think my favorite is Indian Summer, where the world hovers on that cusp of summer with a hint of fall. When those days stretch on and on in warm golden sunlight and harvest is just around the corner. It's a time of endings and beginnings, and trying to steal just a few more moments of sunlight and fun before hibernation sets in.

  4. I, like you, love something about every season and summer rings ice cream to my ear. I love the sweet, creamy goodness of this frozen dessert. Mmmm! And, ooo the photo of the chocolate chip cherry vanilla you have displayed on your blog looks so inviting. I believe it was calling my name, "Cathy!" However, if the truth be known and after all this is from Tell The Truth Thursday's post, we can eat ice cream anytime of the year, though. I like early summer, but as the weather turns extreme then I'd rather pass straight to fall. As Vagabond Carnival pointed out Indian Summer is that in-between season which gives one the best of both seasons and I for one must agree. I thoroughly enjoy Indian Summer. During the chill of winter, I enjoy brief intense moments of happiness for instance when I see the first snow of the season or to feel the nip of a cold morning caress my cheeks. Unfortunately, the grey, cold days of the winter solstice leaves me wishing the days away for spring's return.

Thanks for following me Elizabeth and am retunring the favor. I shall look forward to growing a new friendship with you & your readers. Merry Christmas!

  7. I miss sitting in the sun and watching my kids splash in the kiddie pool. However, I am enjoying the snow and Christmas decorations now. The older I get, the more I enjoy each season as it comes.

  13. For me, summer nights are some of the most enjoyable times of the year. Nothing says relaxing like feeling the subtle warmth of lingering heat on your skin while you relax with your love in a swing, listening to the trickle of a brook beside and holding a glass of lemonade in your hand.

I do love winter, but sometimes I miss summer.
